SCOPE Responsible for assisting the Chief of Security and Lieutenants with the protection of O.C.H.A. residents and property, investigations, apprehension of suspected criminals, routine security functions, and supervision of personnel. The work hours for this position are not standard. The employee must be available to work evenings and weekends. ACCOUNTABILITY Responsible to the Chief of Security through assigned supervisors.
DUTIES Supervises patrol activities, communications and record keeping. Assists in carrying out Security Department policies and procedures. Supervises conduct, appearance, training and performance of assigned Security personnel. Investigates complaints from residents and counsels with residents. Assists in making arrests and impounding automobiles. Appears in court as a witness for the OCHA. Maintains good working relationship City, County, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies to provide maximum resident protection. Maintains a working knowledge of City-County ordinances and State Laws. Monitors and reports potential problem areas which could endanger OCHA personnel, residents or property. Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: High School Diploma, or equivalent, with schooling and/or experience in law enforcement or security. Ability to meet and satisfy the requirements set forth in Title 59 Oklahoma Statutes, Section 1750.4(H) (2) for Armed Security Guard. Must be semi-automatic hand gun qualified. The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others, deal tactfully with the public, and retain proprietary information as confidential. Strong human relations skills. Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. PHYSICAL: Day and night vision sufficient to identify people, items and places in low light/night environment. Hearing and speech sufficient to be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio/telephone. Ability to enter all areas of all OCHA housing units without assistance. |
