SCOPE  

Responsible for assisting the Chief of Security and other Security personnel with protection of O.C.H.A. residents and property, including investigations, apprehension of suspected criminals, and routine security functions.

ACCOUNTABILITY  

Directly responsible to the Chief of Security through assigned supervisors.

 

DUTIES 

Perform daily tours of assigned development areas; provide assistance in investigating complaints from residents; counsel with residents when requested. Assist in making arrests, impounding automobiles, and appear in court as witness for the Authority when necessary. Maintain a good rapport and a good working relationship with the Oklahoma City Police Department and other law enforcement organizations. Remain alert to, monitor, and report potential problems which could endanger Authority personnel, residents, or property. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED: High School Diploma, or equivalent. Ability to meet and satisfy the requirements set forth in Title 59 Oklahoma Statutes, Chapter 42A for Armed Security Guard.  Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others, deal tactfully with the public, and retain proprietary information as confidential. Strong human relations skills. Possess a valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record. Ability to comply with the Authority attendance policies.  Must be CLEET certified as an Armed Security Guard and must be semi-automatic hand gun qualified.  Must be available to work any shift any day of the week.

PREFERRED: Security schooling and/or experience.

PHYSICAL: Day and night vision sufficient to identify people, items and places in low light/night environment. Hearing and speech sufficient to be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio/telephone. Ability to enter all areas of all OCHA housing units without assistance.
