SCOPE
Assist in pest control, extermination treatment, and heat
treatment of
Authority developments and facilities.
ACCOUNTABILITY
Directly
responsible to the Director of Maintenance/Technical Services and Mechanic
A/Exterminator.
DUTIES
Uses authorized poisons, heat remediation equipment and
computers to treat and spray Authority
buildings and grounds for roaches, rats and other pests/vermin in accordance
with applicable guidelines and State and Federal Laws and under the
supervision of the Mechanic A/Exterminator. Ensures the
safekeeping of assigned poisons and chemicals and assists in maintaining
MSDS sheets. Checks for
and reports bed bugs and termite activity. Reports number of units serviced and
any unsanitary units; completes appropriate forms. Provides data
to appropriate personnel to maintain bed bug activity log. Documents chemical usage and
coordinates with the Mechanic A/Exterminator to ensure a sufficient on-hand supply of
chemicals and supplies. Prepares, submits and completes work
orders. Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, or equivalent, with additional business or
equivalent vocational training or work experience. Must be able to
obtain State of Oklahoma certification as a Pest Control Technician
within six months of employment. Must be able to work in
temperatures ranging up to 130 degrees Fahrenheit for a short periond. Ability to
use initiative, work independently and take appropriate
action on unassigned tasks. Ability to understand and follow
written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to comply with
Authority attendance policies. Ability to establish and maintain
effective working relationships with others, deal tactfully with the
public, and retain proprietary information as confidential.
Possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License with an acceptable driving
record.
PHYSICAL
Near
vision sufficient to prepare and read work orders, MSDS sheets, computer
generated products and forms.
Hearing and speech sufficient to communicate effectively in person
and by radio and telephone. Ability to stretch, bend, stoop, lift and load heavy
equipment/materials and reach for extended
periods of time. Ability to
access all areas of all Authority properties. Work conditions
include daily exposure to one or more disagreeable factors, such as
fatiguing physical exertion, burns, sprains, noise, glare, weather and
so forth.
