How to submit an Open Records Request?

Open Records Request

Under the Oklahoma Open Records Act, OCHA provides access to public records for those who request them.

When a Records Request is made, OCHA acknowledges receipt of the request and then conducts a diligent and thorough search for documents that are requested. If record(s) are identified, the record(s) will be made available along with information about any exceptions or redactions. Please note, Record Request are limited to accessing existing records; a Records Request is not a mechanism for asking questions or submitting comments.

The more specific the Records Request, the more efficient it is for OCHA to perform an expedient search for records. Broad requests, may significantly extend the time it will take OCHA to search, review, and release any records.

The Housing Authority can not directly help you with your rent to a private, non-Housing Choice Voucher Landlord or Property Management company.  However, if you are paying more than 30% of your monthly adjusted gross income for rent, and if you are eligible or appropriate for assistance, you should consider leasing one of our Public Housing units or applying for the Housing Choice Voucher Program.

This is a difficult question to answer exactly.  Because of the many variables due to the individuality of our applicants and our programs, we can only give approximations of time.  Each property maintains it's own waiting list, so wait times will vary depending on the property at which you applied.

How is rent determined?
Rent is based on your household's income and family circumstances. When calculating your rent, OCHA considers any eligible deductions allowed under program guidelines. Each year, OCHA reviews your household information to help ensure your rent does not exceed 30% of your adjusted monthly income. If your household size or income changes during the year, you may request an interim review to determine whether your rent should be adjusted.
