Participant Assistance Programs


FSS_HCV
Family Self Sufficiency Program

The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program is a voluntary program designed to help families participating in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV)  and Project Based Voucher programs increase their income, achieve financial independence, and work towards their personal and professional goals.

As part of the program, participants develop a  five-year plan focused on:

  • Short and long term goals
  • Financial education
  
  • Health and wellness
  • With the final goal of employment 
FSS staff works with families to identify, arrange and connect them with the resources and services needed to achieve their goals. Available services might include:

  • Child care assistance
  • Education opportunities
  • Transportation resources
  
  • Personal development support
  • Résumés assistance
  • Job training and placement services
As participants increase their earned income, a portion of their rent increase may be deposited into an FSS escrow account. Families who successfully complete the program and meet HUD requirements may receive these funds upon graduation. This is a great program for those who are looking to fulfill short or long term goals.

Family Unification Program
The Family Unification Program is for family’s who have lost their children or are in danger of losing their children due to one of the primary factors being inadequate housing. Participants must be referred by the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division. Families who have Child Welfare Caseworkers should contact their Caseworkers to see if they qualify. If you believe you may qualify but do not have a Child Welfare Caseworker, we may refer you to a Child Welfare Caseworker for determination of eligibility.

Mainstream Program for Person with Disabilities
This program provides housing assistance for disabled families and individuals of all ages.

HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH)

Housing Choice Voucher program for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. For more information regarding this program, please call (405) 605-3264 or contact the OKC Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center.

Village at Oakwood
Village at Oakwood is an assisted living community.  Prospective residents have to be a member of the Medicaid Advantage Waiver Program, handicapped or disabled, and 62 years of age or older. For more information regarding this program, please call (405) 605-3264.

John H. Johnson Care Suites

Pershing Center

Single Room Occupancy Program (SRO)
